A native of Fayetteville, Dr. “Rob” Prewitt graduated from Terry Sanford Senior High School in 1974. He attended the University of Kentucky for the first 2 years of his undergraduate education (1974-1976). He was also a member of both the J.V. and Varsity basketball teams at Kentucky (ranked #2 NCAA 1974-1975 seasons). Dr. Prewitt transferred to UNC-Chapel Hill where he received his B.A. in Chemistry and also Phi Beta Kappa scholastic honors (1976-1978). He remained at UNC-Chapel Hill for dental school (1978-1982) and received his D.D.S. degree and Omicron Kappa Upsilon scholastic honors in 1982. After serving 3 years as a General Dentist in the Dental Corps of the U.S. Navy (1982-1985), stationed in San Diego, CA, Dr. Prewitt returned to UNC-Chapel Hill for specialty training in orthodontics (1985-1988). Dr. Prewitt completed his orthodontic residency in June of 1988 and was asked to stay on as part-time clinical assistant professor of the highly respected UNC-Orthodontic Department, which he did for 1 year while he was establishing his orthodontic practice here in Fayetteville. He now has been in orthodontic practice for almost 33 years, being loyal to his patients in creating one excellent smile at a time.
